Time use

Time use is one of the eight domains under the Canadian Index of Wellbeing.

What do you think about these indicators: which do you like and not like, and for what reason?

Are we missing any key indicators under this theme for Yukon?

Indicators

  • Percentage of Canadians 25 to 64 years of age working over 50 hours per week at main job
  • Average daily amount of time with friends (minutes per day)
  • Percentage of labour force working under 30 hours per week, not by choice
  • Mean workday commute time for individuals working for pay
  • Percentage of individuals working for pay with flexible work hours
  • Percentage of labour force with regular, weekday work hours
  • Percentage of 15 to 64 years old reporting high levels of time pressure
  • Percentage of Canadians who report 7 to 9 hours of good quality essential sleep

For Indicator on flexible hours, it is not clear if it is by arrangement that those hours are flexible (flex time or compressed work week) or if it is that a persons hours change week over week based on employers needs

Time spent on screens? Or does that go under health? Does time with friends include family?
Du temps passé sur les écrans? Ou cela passe-t-il sous la santé? Le temps passé avec des amis inclut-il la famille?
