Democratic engagement

Democratic engagement is one of the eight domains under the Canadian Index of Wellbeing.

What do you think about these indicators: which do you like and not like, and for what reason?

Are we missing any key indicators under this theme for Yukon? 

Indicators

  • Percentage of voter turnout at federal elections 
  • Ratio of registered to eligible voters
  • Percentage of population that volunteers for a law, advocacy or political group
  • Gap in percentage turnout between older and younger voters
  • Percentage of Members of Parliament's office budget devoted to sending communications to constituents
  • Percentage of women in Federal Parliament
  • Percentage of population that is very or fairly satisfied with way democracy works in Canada
  • Percentage of population with a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in Federal Parliament
